NidoPlay
Family Local Media Player
Built for family media use, NidoPlay supports iOS, Android, and HarmonyOS 2-4 compatible devices. It turns videos, audio, learning materials, and bedtime content already saved on your device into a clean local media library for watching or listening.
Check the fit first
For families that already have local content ready
- You already save cartoons, songs, learning materials, or bedtime media on the device.
- You want children to watch without ads, recommendation feeds, or short-video entrances.
- You want family members to open a folder and continue playback without learning a cloud drive or complex player.
- You want local content to play reliably without a network connection.
- You want online cartoons, source search, downloads, or remote playlists.
- You need accounts, cloud sync, cloud backup, or a cross-device media library.
- You expect the app to recommend content or connect to a film and TV catalog.
- You need advanced playback tuning, media metadata editing, or a system-level kids mode.
Core Features
Simple watching and listening around a family local media library
NidoPlay does not include, distribute, or recommend content. It only organizes and plays local files you explicitly authorize.
Local media library
Add authorized local folders, recursively scan video and audio, cache thumbnails, and browse by folder hierarchy.
History and resume
Save playback progress, completion state, and watch history so the home screen can resume the last item.
Video playback
Supports subtitles, speed control, gesture seeking, long-press 3x, brightness and volume gestures, control lock, and stop timers.
Listening and audio playback
Videos can switch to audio-only listening, with support for local mp3, m4a, and aac audio, loops, and fade-out stop timers.
Local organization and search
Natural sorting, search, hiding content, and removing library records without deleting the original files on the device.
Local network casting
iOS supports AirPlay. Android supports DLNA for temporary casting of the current local video on the same LAN.
Product Notes
Not a content platform, but a family local media library tool
Its purpose is not to find content for you. It turns saved audio and video folders from file managers or cloud-drive clients into media cards that family members can use more easily.
Generate media cards from a root folder
Authorize one downloads folder as the root, and the next-level folders become media cards. Original files are not moved or deleted.
Watching and listening together
Works for cartoon viewing, audio-only listening, background audio, system media controls, and family listening sessions.
Clear product boundaries
No source search, downloads, remote playlists, accounts, cloud sync, or recommendation feed. Data stays on the current device by default.

Privacy First
Your local media library stays on your device
NidoPlay only handles folder authorization, scan caches, watch history, and playback settings on your device. It does not collect login data or upload media library data. Casting only transfers the current file temporarily within the same LAN.
System Support
Supports iOS, Android, and HarmonyOS 2-4
The core experience is built for mobile family use: local folder authorization, library browsing, playback controls, listening mode, resume history, and LAN casting.
Android / HarmonyOS 2-4
The Android APK works on Android devices and HarmonyOS 2-4 compatible devices, with local playback, foreground media notifications, and DLNA LAN casting.
iOS
Keeps the enhanced playback core and supports background audio mode plus the system AirPlay picker.
Not supported yet
HarmonyOS NEXT / native HarmonyOS is not supported yet. Actual decoding capability depends on the platform player.
